The Oregon Invasive Species Council is currently advertising for a Coordinator position to help cooperative efforts at preventing and controlling damaging invasive species in the state of Oregon. The 17-member OISC was created in 2001 and has had many successful campaigns in eliminating or mitigating invasive species. For more on the Council, please visit <http://www.oregoninvasivespeciescouncil.org/>www.oregoninvasivespeciescouncil.org.

In short, the main duties of the OISC Coordinator are:

· Coordinate, or lead efforts, for key OISC business (estimated 60% of total duties) · Pursue outside funding sources to support OISC business and key initiatives (10%) · Coordinate outreach and education for the Council, such as press releases, reports to stakeholders, etc. (10%) · Serve as the Council’s liaison to the Oregon legislature and the Governor’s Office (10%) · Coordinate with neighboring states and the National Invasive Species Council (5%) · Meet regularly with the Oregon Dept of Agriculture for contract reporting (5%)

This vacancy is a contract, salaried position with a maximum pay rate equivalent to $6,250 per month. However, since this contract is open for competitive bidding, the Price Proposal with the lowest Total Project Rate for the Coordinator position will be awarded the maximum number of “Price Points” available under the RFP. All contract proposals will be evaluated based on a number of criteria, including competitive bids.

Funding, and consequently the current open position, is guaranteed through the end of the current Oregon fiscal year (June 30, 2015). Beyond that date, funding is pending approval by the Oregon Legislature of the recently-released Governor’s Recommended Budget. We anticipate, but cannot guaranteed at this time, full funding for the position for the next biennium (July 1, 2015 June 30, 2017). The contract can be automatically renewwed for this extended time period, given satisfactory job performance by the incumbent Coordinator and available funds.
