The Department of Oceanography & Coastal Sciences (DOCS), Louisiana State 
University seeks an experienced applicant to serve as a Stable Isotope 
Research Associate 3. 

This position will play an important role in the Isotope Ecology Laboratory 
and will be responsible for overall laboratory management including: 
routine maintenance of instruments, design and oversight of quality control 
procedures, financial planning and budgeting, and training users of 
equipment in the facility. Primary instrumentation in the Isotope Ecology 
Laboratory include a Thermo Delta Plus XP IRMS systems with a Costech 
Elemental analyzer (Model 4010) for bulk δ 13C and δ 15N measurements, and 
a Thermo Delta V Advantage IRMS systems with GC IsoLink II and Trace GC 
1310 for compound-specific δ13C and δ 15N measurement of primarily amino 
acids. Sample matrices include animal tissues plants and soils.

Candidates with prior experience and a graduate degree in a relevant 
discipline will be given preference. Successful candidates will be highly 
motivated, attentive to detail and possess excellent organizational skills.
