The Department of Geography at Miami University invites applications for a Graduate Assistantship working with the Myaamia Center starting in Fall 2015. The successful applicant will be admitted to the Departments Master of Arts Program.
The Myaamia Center and the Department of Geography are seeking a graduate student to assist in the planning and implementation of a GIS database that meets the Centers needs for research related to the history and culture of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. Why choose Geography at Miami University? Our terminal M.A. program provides students the choice, flexibility, and training to go on for a Ph.D. or to take a job related to their graduate education. Our program has only 12-15 students in residence each year, fostering a student to faculty ratio of nearly 1:1. We offer support for conference travel and summer thesis research. Graduate faculty members are strongly committed to teaching, advising, and research collaboration with graduate students. Research and teaching in the Department of Geography focus primarily on Global Politics and Development Urban Worlds) and Human-Environment Interactions.
