Job Description: Successful candidate will contribute to the
research program, administration and supervision of staff of the
Kaskaskia Biological Station. Postdoc will coordinate all aspects of
research design, data collection, analysis, presentation, and
publication in the areas of fish ecology and management. Emphasized
areas of research include predator-prey relationships, trophic
ecology, foraging behavior, bioenergetics, and reproductive ecology.
Responsible for new research initiatives on invasive species (Asian
carp) as well as continuing studies evaluating population ecology of
crappie and largemouth bass. Individual will be part of an
interactive research group including faculty, graduate and
undergraduate students, research biologists, and full- and part-time
research assistants.
Qualifications: Completed Ph.D. in fisheries,
zoology, ecology or related field within the last five years. Ability
to collect field and laboratory data, as well as experience in
supervising staff and planning research activities are required.
Requires good interpersonal and organizational skills to train and
supervise personnel and maintain effective working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to present data at scientific meetings, publish
in reputable journals, and strong background in statistical analysis
is also required.
