Hi all, I am planning my field work and would like some input on a specific question. As part of my dissertation I will be interviewing fishermen in, likely, remote areas with limited internet access and phone coverage. A considerable part of the interviews is to make the fishermen show me in charts where their fishing areas are and have been in the past. One option is taking printed charts and then digitalizing them however that may be very time consuming. I was planning on using a tablet (advices welcome) where I could have the study area and make them draw the polygons in the tablet and save them as data. I have been researching and it seems a bit complicated to have the maps offline and be able to draw polygons although there are some apps that work.
