I recently turned to crowdfunding as a way to fund my research. The site
that I'm using is Experiment.com. I don't know yet if I will be successful in
raising the money I need to continue with my research, but if anyone has ideas
about gaining publicity, I would appreciate hearing from you.
So far, I have had a press release written for me, which my university's
press office released. I have also opened Facebook and Twitter pages, and sent
e-mail notifications. I have found that using the Lab Notes feature seems to
work well in getting people to visit my site.
