The Johnson lab at the University of Idaho is looking for a highly-motivated Ph.D. student to work on an aspect (to be determined by Dr. Johnson and the student) of tree hydraulics. Potential projects include, but are not limited to, xylem embolism occurrence and repair, leaf hydraulic function, and whole-tree responses to drought. The position would start in August of 2015. The University of Idaho is located in Moscow, a small college town with abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation and a thriving arts scene. Pullman, WA (Washington State University) is only 7 miles from Moscow and between the two schools there are many opportunities for collaboration.
