The Great Basin Institute (GBI), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
promoting environmental research, education and conservation, is seeking a
motivated and dynamic Mojave Program Coordinator to support GBI’s southern
Nevada programs, Assistant Director, and other program staff.  The
qualified candidate will perform administrative, operational and
program/project/employee-support activities in office and field settings.
Performance will focus on compliance with Great Basin Institute, Nevada
Conservation Corps, Research Associate Program and AmeriCorps policies, and
on fostering and maintaining internal and external communication. Duties
will include facilitating timely and complete communication and reporting
with GBI’s home office (Reno, Nevada), communication with GBI employees and
project partners via telephone, email and in person, word processing,
filing, data entry, drafting reports, and providing other administrative
and operational support. Microsoft software skills and internet research
capabilities are required. Qualified candidates will have a passion for
environmental service. In addition to possessing strong communication
skills, candidates must also be able to work independently, and be
responsible, organized, and goal-oriented.

*Essential Functions and Duties:*

   - Coordinate with and assist the Associate Director with administrative
   functions, operations, and logistics;
   - Assist in developing and supporting project/program partnerships;
   - Represent GBI at agency meetings and events;
   - Assist with timely completion and processing of employee paperwork,
   including personnel forms, time sheets, credit card reports, and mileage
   logs;
   - Ensure that paperwork/supplies are sent to the Reno office in a timely
   manner;
   - Manage office and field inventory;
   - Travel to employee and project partner work sites to deliver supplies
   and check in with employees/partners;
   - Maintain phone and email lists, and other operational tools;
   - Take and distribute meeting minutes, draft memos, and respond to phone
   and email inquiries;
   - Prepare materials for meetings, orientations, and trainings;
   - Facilitate communication between Reno and Las Vegas staff;Participate
   in maintaining the functionality of the field station; and
   - Other duties as assigned.



*Compensation: *

·         $33,000-$41,000 yearly salary DOE

·         ACA-compliant medical and dental benefits

*Timeline: *Annual renewable contract starting upon availability

*Qualifications: *

·         Bachelors’s degree in applicable discipline;

·         Possess a service orientation with a flexible, adaptive approach
to work activities and scheduling;

·         Experience in project management;

·         Familiarity with standard office procedures and use of associated
equipment;

·         Knowledge of computers and facility with Microsoft Office
programs;

·         Ability to communicate precisely, clearly, and politely both
verbally and in writing;

·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;

·         Ability to work productively, both independently and as part of a
team, and operate under deadlines;

·         Excellent problem solving and interactive skills;

·         Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record;

·         Ability and willingness to safely operate a 4WD vehicle on paved
and unimproved roads; and

·         Ability to pass a National Sex Offender Public Registry (NSOPR)
name search and an FBI background check.
