Minnesota DNR's Division of Ecological and Water Resources seeks to fill two supervisory positions with the MN Biological Survey (MBS) Program located in St. Paul.
1) A Supervisor Senior of the entire MBS program This position leads the Minnesota Biological Survey (MBS). Major responsibilities include: implementation and oversight of statewide survey, monitoring and research of native plants, native animals, native plant communities and ecological systems; making policy recommendations on emerging issues statewide; integrating survey, monitoring and research information with other related projects; ensuring the delivery of data, information and technical assistance on the conservation and management of Minnesota?s native species, native plant communities and ecological systems to stakeholders within and outside the department. 2) A Supervisor Intermediate with the working title of: MBS Supervisor (plant ecologist/botanist). This position develops, implements and supervises professional botanists and plant ecologists who conduct statewide surveys, monitoring and research of native plants, native plant communities and ecological systems as part of the Minnesota Biological Survey (MBS) in order to provide technical assistance through data analysis and interpretation. This position works closely with the program supervisor senior and others to utilize and interpret information for conservation, management and policy development related to these resources to stakeholders within and outside the department. This position involves fund-raising, budget management, and supervision of at least 13 professional staff, some temporary employees and contractors.
