Outstanding Keynotes You Won't Want To Miss

Keynote Addresses

A New Wild: Saving Nature and Saving Ourselves -- Dr. M. Sanjayan

Opening keynote speaker Dr. M. Sanjayan, a leading global conservation
scientist with Conservation International and host of the PBS Television
Series EARTH A New Wild, discusses reframing conservation by making it about
human well-being. His talk will cover how human communities are helping
nature thrive and how bringing people into the picture-- that is,
emphasizing that humans are a part of our world's natural systems and not
separate from them-- complements traditional conservation tools such as
protecting important natural areas.

Concepts and themes of modern conservation: Can they be reconciled? -- Reed
F. Noss.

Keynote speaker Reed Noss suggests that in order for collaborations to be
effective, conflicting ideas about why, where, and how to practice
conservation must be reconciled. This lecture examines some of the major
concepts and themes of conservation, traditional and new, and concludes that
they may be either complementary or competing.

Remember to submit your paper or poster
<http://naturalareasconference.org/abstracts> by June 8th, and mark your
