Hi, all! I'm a PhD student at Duke, working with Prof. Stuart Pimm to look at
human-lion
conflict related to livestock depredation in Africa south of the Sahara. We've
been
working on mapping likely predation hotspots for cattle, based on cattle
densities & lion
presence, but are looking to verify accuracy by collecting some point samples
of
predation pressure.

This leads us to look for the baseline predation rate -- the rate of livestock
lost to
predators' attacks on traditional (in other terms, "unfortified")
bomas/kraals/livestock
holding pens.

Thus, if anyone has data on this for your working region, I'd very very much
appreciate
hearing from you!

Best,
