Prof. Voltolini,

Check out Global Forest Watch <http://www.globalforestwatch.org/>. It
compiles, visualizes and helps you analyze satellite imagery (mainly from
University of Maryland and NASA) as well as ground data for canopy cover,
forest cover lost, forest use and much more. Tropical rainforests are a
focus of the platform so you'll find specific subnational data on the
Amazon. Hope this helps.
