A colleague and I are attempting to compare “ecological footprints” between people (families) in two different, co-existing cultural communities. The focus is on household resource use. We are unlikely to be able to persuade our informants to tally their uses over a period of time, so we are trying to get at this information using a questionnaire and an interview procedure. I’d be very interested in communicating with anyone who has done a similar small-scale footprint analysis, or who can guide me to appropriate published (or unpublished) studies.
