Grants Manager/Compliance Officer The Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies located in Millbrook, NY, is seeking a dynamic professional to manage all phases of pre- and post-award grants and contracts administration including grant related compliance. You must be knowledgeable across the range of externally sponsored research activities, including: grant proposal development, proposal submission, grant agreements and contracts. Broad familiarity with a range of federal, state, and private grant-making programs is a necessity, as is knowledge of the associated regulatory environment, including FFATA requirement, FARs, IRB and IACUC regulations, conflict of interest regulations and responsible conduct in research training.
You will represent the Institute in annual A133 audit and other federal agency reviews. Familiarity with spreadsheets and database management is essential and some knowledge of accounting and journal entries would be a plus. Familiarity with FASTLANE, Grants.gov and Research.gov is required. Demonstrated knowledge and application of federal regulations including OMB Circulars and federal agency guidelines is critical. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years related experience. Certified Research Administrator (C.R.A.) status is preferred. Prior work in a higher education financial or research administration, and a commitment to environmental issues, are all a plus. A strong candidate would value teamwork and collaboration, possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the research community, take initiative, solve problems, and support organizational change.
