Join us for the autumn (Sept. 9-13) Botany Workshop being offered near
Windigo in Michigan's Isle Royale National Park (located in western Lake
Superior).

Sponsored by the Isle Royale & Keweenaw Parks Association, this botany
workshop is open to anyone with beginning/intermediate knowledge of plant
identification who would like to learn to identify plants of Isle Royale.
You’ll learn to use such tools as a dichotomous key and hand lens to
identify plants. Plant communities, rare species, ecology, and invasive
species will be discussed.

Nine botany workshops have been taught near the NE end of Isle Royale
(Rock Harbor) by botanist Janet Marr. This will be the first one offered
near the SW end of the island (Windigo). Windigo is most easily accessed by
boat from Grand Portage, Minnesota, although it can also be reached from the
Houghton/Copper Harbor, Michigan area.
