Hi Jane, We usually transfer Physarum to new media every other day. The longer the interval betewen transfers, the bigger the contamination issue. It also helps to flame all tools prior to use, and to autoclave the media before use. Having said that, under normal conditions frequent transfers are sufficent to limit contamination.
Feel free to contact me off-list ([email protected]) if you want more tips.
