Dear Colleagues, I wanted to share with you a session you may be interested in submitting an abstract for this year at AGU.
AGU Session (8024): Climate Literacy: Moving Past Misconceptions and Barriers Climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, yet common misconceptions about climate science and concerns about the policy implications create barriers to understanding, taking action, or teaching climate change. We invite researchers, educators, lifelong learners, and practitioners to submit papers that shed light on the foundations of these misconceptions and barriers, and how to best address them. What models are effective in changing both understanding and behavior? How can we best support the teachers? How can this knowledge be extended to all learners? Primary Convener: Minda Berbeco, National Center for Science Education, Oakland, CA, United States Conveners: Nick Haddad, TERC, Cambridge, MA, United States and Mona Behl, The University of Georgia, The Georgia Sea Grant College Program, Athens, GA, United States To submit an abstract, go to: https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm15/preliminaryview.cgi/Session8024 Deadline for submissions is August 5th All the best, Minda -- Minda Berbeco, PhD Programs and Policy Director National Center for Science Education 420 40th Street, Suite 2 Oakland, CA 94609-2509 Phone: 510.601.7203 or 800-290-6006 Fax: 510-601-7204 http://ncse.com/climate http://ncse.com/blog Tweeting as @MindaBerbeco Region 2 Director California Science Teacher Association http://www.cascience.org/ Tweeting at @cascience
