pursue your career objectives. Here's why:

  *   Community.  Science educators
at UW-Stout are members of an intellectually vibrant learning community that
includes students, instructors, and support staff.

  * Expertise. Science educators are dedicated to teaching excellence and
the application of best practices in the classroom. We are a primarily
undergraduate institution (PUI) but enjoy training professional science
master's degree students in our growing program.

  * Support. Science educators are well-supported by internal and external
grants, and professional development and student travel funds are available.
Educators have ready access to molecular biology, environmental sampling, clean
room, tissue culture, and analytical chemistry equipment, both in-house and
through collaborative agreements with nearby UW system schools and regional
support organizations.

  * Facility and programs. The science and mathematics departments are
housed in a recent $44M science building supporting four undergraduate and two
graduate programs. In addition, there is significant administrative support
for new science and engineering initiatives. The science departments are part
of a vibrant and interdisciplinary College of Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics.

  * Interdisciplinary environment. The science departments play a crucial
role in the cross-disciplinary biochemistry and molecular biology,
nanotechnology, science education, engineering, and environmental science
programs, and support the cognitive neuroscience, dietetics, construction,
packaging, engineering, risk control, and vocational rehabilitation programs
through service courses. We also provide non-majors science instruction.
