The Department of Environmental Science in the College of Arts & Sciences at American University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Candidates must possess their Ph.D. at the time of application and those with post-doctoral experience will be the most competitive. A successful candidate will have a strong record of research and potential for, or evidence of, excellence in teaching. We will consider all areas of environmental science research but we are particularly interested in those working in applied climatology, urban ecology, or ecosystem services, and applying computational or quantitative approaches. The position also offers opportunities to collaborate with a diverse and interdisciplinary group of environmental and sustainability researchers across the university. The candidate will be expected to teach and mentor both undergraduate and graduate students, and also participate in departmental, college, and university activities and service.
