Job: Data Assistant at Archbold Biological Station, Florida

Archbold Biological Station, a not-for-profit dedicated to long-term ecological 
research, education and conservation in south central Florida, is seeking a 
bright, intellectually curious person, to fill the technical support position 
of Data Assistant at a dynamic field station,

The incumbent of this career-building position will report to the GIS / Data 
Manager.  The Data Assistant is responsible for the day to day monitoring and 
trouble-shooting of data flow from raw file entry point of abiotic and biotic 
data to relational databases, real-time streaming onto an SQL Server, and 
automated subset data transfers to offsite end users.

Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant coursework 
or equivalent work experience preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word and 
Excel required.  The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Access 
and SQL Server, and be familiarity with SQL Server scheduled jobs and general 
database maintenance. Experience with GIS and web design a plus but not 
required.

This is a full-time position with benefits.  Salary commensurate with

Job: Development Assistant, Archbold Biological Station, Florida

Development Assistant who is passionate about conservation and believes deeply 
in Archbold's mission.

Incumbent will support the Board, Development Committee and the Executive 
Director in achieving fundraising goals, works with CFO to ensure 
reconciliation of all donations, and use Blackbaud fundraising software to 
develop, evaluate and enhance fundraising database of donors and potential 
donors, and to create financial reports.

The ideal candidate will have experience using Blackbaud Raisers Edge or 
similar database. Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, fundraising 
management or related field, or Associate's degree with 2 years relevant 
experience preferred.  Position is FT with benefits.  Salary commensurate with

Job: Assistant Collections Manager, Archbold Biological Station, Florida

Archbold, a not-for-profit dedicated to long-term ecological research, 
education and conservation in south central Florida, is seeking a key team 
member to meet the objectives of an NSF CSBR award.  This is a three-year grant 
funded position with benefits.

Incumbent's primary responsibility will be to work extensively with the 
Archbold arthropod collection, databasing and imaging specimen data, and moving 
the digitized data to the Internet via Symbiota-linked and other on-line 
portals under supervision of Entomology Program Director and Data Manager.  
Will also work with digital databases for herbarium, birds, mammals, herptiles, 
fishes and bryophytes collections, imaging specimens, and moving the digitized 
data to internet.

Bachelor's Degree in Entomology or related field in biology with 2-3 years' 
experience working with entomology collections, or a Master's Degree and 1 year 
of experience preferred.  Experience with curation of entomology collections 
critical, including identification, labeling specimens, barcoding and QR 
readers, and specimen imaging.  Strong computing skills required, especially in 
relational databases such as Specify or other collections management databases.
