Hawk Migration Counter needed to conduct survey of migrating birds
of prey at Montclair Hawk Lookout, Montclair, NJ
Seasonal Position: September 1 to November 30
Responsibilities: Duties include identifying and recording migrating
birds of prey, data entry, and interacting with the public.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with hawk migration and experience identifying all
eastern North American raptors is required.
Enthusiastic and motivated self-starter.
Must be able to work independently.
Applicants should have experience interacting with the public and
excellent interpersonal skills.
Careful data collecting skills a must.
Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and climb multiple steep steps.
Flexibility to adjust hours to meet needs of department and organization.
Transportation necessary to get from provided housing to count site.
This requires a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license to
operate a vehicle in NJ.
Salary based on experience, and includes housing.
