Colleagues,

The Geosciences Department of the University of Arizona in Tucson is seeking
candidates for a tenure-track professorship in Quantitative Earth surface
science.

The search is targeted as the assistant/associate ranks, but strong candidates
for Full Professor are encouraged to apply and will be given full consideration.

We seek candidates at the forefront of research in landscape evolution (broadly
defined), especially those who work to quantify landscape response to climatic
and/or land-use changes across a range of spatial and temporal scales.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take part in a new
interdepartmental program/virtual center at UA called iEarth
(htto://www.iearthcollaborative.org) focused on understanding, quantifying, and
ultimately forecasting land surface responses to changing forcing conditions at
a range of scales up to and including the global scale.

Please note that, while the ideal candidate would have a track record of using
novel applied math/modeling approaches, this is not a requirement.

UA is a good place to do science, with strong colleagues/departments in Earth
and environmental sciences.

Tucson is a pleasant place to live (affordable housing, great recreational
opportunities, etc.) and provides excellent opportunities for field work in the
SW US.

To apply or see additional information on the position, please go to job number
F20157 in the uacareers.com system or https://uacareers.com/postings/5612

Feel free to contact me ([email protected]) with any questions.

Apologies for cross-posting.
