Job Description:
General Purpose: Reporting to the Peabody Director, leads the Museum's 
engagement with the 
University's teaching mission. The Director of Student Programs creates and 
executes strategies to 
advance the use of the Museum's collections and other resources for teaching by 
Yale faculty and by 
Museum staff. This position is responsible for developing and overseeing 
programs that support 
engagement by Yale students and the use of Peabody Museum collections and 
expertise as 
educational resources.
Required Skills:
Required Education and Experience: Master’s degree in a relevant scientific 
field and 3-5 years of 
experience in a scientific and educational setting or an equivalent combination 
of education and 
experience.

Qualifications:
• Ability to act independently and think strategically to advance the Museum's 
programs and offering 
oriented toward Yale students.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with 
collaborators inside and 
outside the Yale community. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate 
to diverse constituencies.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Demonstrated excellence as a teacher.
• Specialized knowledge in a field relevant to the Museum's collections and 
resources. General 
proficiency in the sciences.
• Preferred: Advanced degree in a relevant scientific field. Relevant 
experience as evidenced by 
progressive roles in museum or teaching environment.
