The Department of Earth and Environment at Florida International University
(earthenvironment.fiu.edu) is seeking applicants for an Open Rank (Assistant,
Associate, or Full Professor) position in Sea Level Rise/Climate Change.
Applicants who work on any of the physical or social-ecological processes that
drive or result from rising seas or a warming climate are encouraged to apply.
As a Department that includes geoscientists, atmospheric scientists,
ecologists, and social scientists, we seek an outstanding candidate with an
aptitude for working across disciplines. The successful candidate will be
expected to maintain an externally funded research program, supervise graduate
students, teach undergraduate classes, and develop graduate courses in his/her
area of expertise. In addition to Departmental responsibilities, the person
selected will also have the opportunity to interact with FIU’s new Sea Level
Solutions Center (www.slsc.fiu.edu), a multidisciplinary, university-wide
collaborative hub within the Institute for Water and the Environment.

Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for Job Opening 510494 at
facultycareers.fiu.edu and attach a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and
statement of teaching philosophy and research interests in a single PDF file.
Candidates will be requested to provide names and contact information for at
least three references, who will be contacted as determined by the search
committee. To receive full consideration, applications and required materials
should be received by December 4, 2015. Review will continue until position is
filled.
