Assistant Professor of Plant Biology Department of Biology Plymouth State University
PSU is a coeducational, residential university located in the scenic heart of the Lakes and White Mountain Region of New Hampshire with an enrollment of approximately 4,300 undergraduate students and 3,000 graduate students. Our department, which currently consists of seven full-time faculty, is located in PSU’s Boyd Science Center, a facility with state-of-the-art equipment and technology that serves teaching and research for our B.S. and M.S. degree programs in biological sciences. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic individual who is interested in teaching excellence, research involving students, and collaboration with other faculty. Duties & Responsibilities: The selected candidate will teach Biological Science I (our first-semester introductory course for majors), Botany, an upper-level course in the candidate’s area of expertise, and non-majors courses for our General Education program; co-teach our capstone Biology Seminar course for majors; advise undergraduate students; engage in scholarly and research activities; participate in service activities internal and external to the campus; and contribute to program development. The individual will be expected to seek research funds, conduct research with students, form research collaborations with other faculty if appropriate, and participate in other activities related to a University Department of Biological Sciences. Funded research can reduce teaching load.
