The Department of Biology at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites 
applications for an 
Ecologist / Environmental Biologist. We are looking for an individual 
enthusiastic about teaching 
undergraduate students in lecture, laboratory, field, and research settings. 
Candidate should be 
able to integrate our unique environmental surroundings situated within the 
driftless area and the 
Upper Mississippi River watershed into teaching and scholarship. A successful 
candidate must be 
interested in and capable of teaching introductory biology courses for both 
biology majors and 
non-biology majors. Additionally, the ability to teach upper division courses 
in GIS theory / 
application and landscape ecology is desired but not required. Expertise in 
herpetology, 
mammalogy, and/or global climate change is also desired but not required. The 
successful 
candidate must be willing to demonstrate excellence in teaching, academic 
advising, service, and 
professional scholarship that includes undergraduate students. This position is 
a 9-month, 
tenure-track faculty appointment.

students in research.

Candidates must have fluency in the English language.

Education and Experience

Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or a related field; A.B.D. 
considered.
