*Position Title: *Postdoctoral Associate of population dynamics and
stock assessment
*Agency/Location:*Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation, Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia.
*Responsibilities*: Research topic will focus on population dynamics
modeling, and stock assessment of walleye fisheries in Lake Erie.
Simulation studies will be used to identify stock assessment approaches
appropriate for this fishery. Preferred experience includes application
of nonstationary time series, age/size structured models and Bayesian
approaches. The candidate will also work collaboratively with Walleye
Task Group and Lake Erie Percid Management Advisory Group.
*Qualifications*: Ph.D. in appropriate field; background in quantitative
population dynamics or statistical computing, record of peer-reviewed
publications; ability to work under limited supervision.
*Salary*: $46,000 to $52,000 plus benefits. Position is grant-funded for
two years.
*Start Date*: Expected to start on Jan 1, 2016.

*About the Department and College:*The Department of Fish and Wildlife
Conservation, one of the oldest such departments in the country (founded
in 1930), is a comprehensive program with expertise in nearly every
aspect of fish and wildlife conservation. The Department is home to 15
