Has anyone seen an estimate of how much the extremist occupation is costing
U.S. taxpayers overall?
I thought I'd seen an estimate, somewhere online, of roughly $23,000 per
day for the interruption of work and the displacement of BLM and USFWS
employees. Unfortunately I can't locate that figure again. There's a
much-repeated estimate of $60-75K in expenses and damages to the residents of
Harney County, but I'm looking for an estimate of the total cost to the natural
resources agencies involved.
I'd also be interested in any estimates of lost economic benefits to Harney
County from the forced absence of sportsmen, birders and other legitimate
