FIELD ASSISTANT needed 1 April through 1 July, 2016 to assist with the capture of migratory birds in urban/suburban areas of Washington DC. Birds captured will be part of an exciting new exhibit called "Experience Migration" which unites The Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center and the National Zoo in Washington, DC.

Applicants MUST be able to place mist nets, capture, band, measure, body score, age, and sex focal bird species unassisted. In addition, strong applicants will have interest in welfare of birds within a captive setting. Assisting with data entry and process documentation required. Work requires from early morning and carrying out a wide variety of field tasks in humid conditions. Applicants must have a valid US driver's license and have their own vehicle. Salary $1800/month. Shared housing provided.
