The Silviculture and Applied Forest Health Lab at Northern Arizona University 
will be hiring the following 2016 seasonal positions (note that housing is not 
provided for either position):

Position 1: An all around versatile, detail oriented, problem solving, flexible 
technician needed for the silviculture and applied forest health lab (Full 
time, $10/hr, mid-May through mid-August). We will be spending the majority of 
the summer in the North Kaibab National Forest with an 8 day on/6 day off 
schedule. Groceries will be included during work-related overnight trips. Tasks 
will include construction and maintenance of common garden sites, data 
collection (measuring seedling growth, needle traits, photo analysis, etc.), 
greenhouse duties and data entry. Skills required include clean driving record, 
4WD experience, comfortable hauling a trailer, previous data collection 
experience, proficient with Excel, comfortable camping and the ability to 
safely work in remote locations. To apply, submit a brief letter of interest

Position 2: One full-time position will be filled at $15/hr for up to 19 weeks 
full time, to begin around May 1, 2016. This position will be based in 
Flagstaff, AZ and require extensive overnight travel to remove field sites in 
far northern Arizona (generally 8 days on, 6 days off). This position will 
manage the logistics of building raised bed planting boxes at remote field 
sites, assist in seedling data collection and planting as needed, and serve 
broader project needs as they arise. Qualifications: BS in forestry, ecology or 
related field; experience with project management; valid US driver's license 
and clean driving record and 4WD/trailer hauling experience; field research 
experience. Experience in nursery operations and/or irrigation systems desired. 
Food will be provided while on work-related travel. Camping may be required. To
