ECOLOG Announcement

The Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory (NGPRL) in Mandan, ND, seeks a 
Postdoctoral Research Associate (Soil Scientist/Ecologist, GS-11) for a 
two-year appointment. The incumbent will participate in a regional USDA-CAP 
project with specific responsibility for research to determine ecosystem 
services derived from integrated crop-livestock production systems. The 
incumbent will work individually and with regional team members to generate and 
integrate crop, livestock, soil, water, and greenhouse gas data from on-going 
long-term experiments at NGPRL and elsewhere in the northern Great Plains. The 
research is expected to develop new knowledge concerning the environmental 
sustainability of integrated crop-livestock production systems based on crop 
and livestock production, soil and water quality, and greenhouse gas emissions. 
This position requires a recent Ph.D. in biological sciences, soil science, 
agronomy, biogeochemistry or related disciplines appropriate to the position. 
Proficiency in statistical analyses is required, and the ability to manage 
multiple datasets concurrently is highly desirable. Proficiency in soil, water, 
and greenhouse gas sampling and analysis is also highly desirable. Ability to 
work as a collaborative team member is essential.  Citizenship restrictions
