BIOLOGY INSTRUCTORS. The Department of Biology at the University of Nebraska at 
Omaha seeks applications for two new faculty positions at the instructor level 
to begin August 2016.  A Ph.D. is required for both positions.

Introductory Biology Laboratory Instructor and Coordinator .  The successful 
candidate will be a broadly trained biologist who can coordinate and contribute 
to teaching laboratory sections in our two-semester introductory course for 
biology majors.  The teaching responsibilities will be three laboratory 
sections each semester.  The coordination responsibilities will include 
organizing faculty and teaching assistants who teach laboratory sections, 
preparing materials and reagents required for laboratory experiments, and 
facilitating field-based labs.  The coordinator will also serve as a point of 
contact for students in the laboratories.  Faculty in the department are 
actively involved in our introductory courses and the laboratory coordinator 
will join a team of diverse faculty who contribute to these courses

Physiology & Anatomy and Introductory Biology Instructor.  The successful 
candidate will be a broadly trained biologist that can teach lecture and 
laboratory sections of our two-semester physiology & anatomy course and 
contribute to coordination of teaching assistants in the laboratory.  The 
individual will also teach in our introductory biology courses.  The teaching 
responsibilities will be one lecture section and one laboratory section of 
physiology & anatomy each semester, together with a combination of lecture and 
laboratory sections of introductory biology.  Faculty in the department are 
actively involved in our physiology and anatomy courses and our introductory 
biology courses will join a team of diverse faculty who contribute to these 
courses.

The Department of Biology serves over 800 majors in the biological sciences, 
providing B.A. and B.S. degrees in biology as well as B.S. degrees in 
biotechnology, bioinformatics, neuroscience and environmental studies. At the 
graduate level, we offer thesis and non-thesis M.S. degrees. Our faculty is 
comprised of 22 tenured or tenure-track lines and 8 instructor lines with a 
broad range of teaching and research interests.
