Dear Colleagues,
We are seeking studies to include in a metaanalysis investigating how nitrogen
deposition influences plant chemical defenses and insect response in
non-agricultural systems. Having scoured the literature, we are especially
asking for help in finding unpublished work (though suggestions of published
studies are welcome, in case we missed something). Studies need not have
included both defensive and insect response, and statistically non-significant
results are also valuable. If you have an unpublished study you are willing to
share with us for this analysis, or if you know of anyone who may, we would be
very grateful for your help and suggestions.

We are especially interested in studies reporting the following foliar
responses to rates of N fertilization less than 150 kg N/ha/yr (15g N/m2):
phenolics, tannins, glycosides, alkaloids, terpenoids, glucosinolates, and
cardenolides.
Studies of herbivore response could be at the guild or species level, and
should reporting one (or more) of the following responses to N fertilization:
rates of herbivory damage, herbivore density, abundances, rate of increase, or
other demographic rates.

Thank you!
