A wonderful new R resource produced by my colleagues at the Vermont Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit is now available: https://www.uvm.edu/rsenr/vtcfwru/R/?Page=fledglings/fledglings.htm
‘R for Fledglings’ is an exceptionally user-friendly, freely available online book. It is a great resource for beginners and more experienced R users alike. The chapters are progressive for beginners, but can serve as stand-alone features for more advanced users. The content ranges from the basics of data entry/organization/analysis and plotting to more advanced topics like writing functions, generating Markdown reports, developing packages, and running simulations. As someone who has used R for years in the context of ecological analyses, this book opened up a whole new set of capacities for me. I found this book to be extremely useful as a tool, both for developing more advanced tasks and refining the clumsier approaches I had accrued over time. Cheers, Steve _______________ Steven P.
