The November 2009 issue of National Geographic featured an article on the
tsingy habitat of western Madagascar, where limestone beds have eroded into an
eerie knifescape of rock. (The article has one of their trademark illustrations
showing how the formations developed over geological time:

Does anyone know of other examples of this kind of terrain, anywhere else
in the world? I'm aware of other eroded limestone formations, such as the
hoodoos of Bryce Canyon and the Stone Forest in Yunnan, but I'm not finding
anything quite as viciously sharp and tortured as the tsingy formations. If
anyone knows of other habitats which closely parallel the tsingy, please
contact me off-list with my thanks in advance.
