Hello EcoLoggers,Sort of unexpectedly I have found myself back in the United
States and am now developing a project that will aid college undergrads to
develop field skills in biology, ecology, and conservation. Based in the
biologically diverse Northwoods of Wisconsin, I will begin to host interns next
summer (2017) so they can learn skills, conduct a small research project, and
interact with community members. These are all skills essential for management
and field work in graduate school or careers. We have an amazing site picked out
(some old growth (400+ year) forest, bogs, marshes) that is relatively
understudied. Now, I just need to acquire the necessary equipment and get
things up and running.I have set up a crowd-funding page with more information
or for monetary donations. I also am accepting donations of equipment and
hoping for messages from people who may be interested to come and join us for a
few days to teach a short course in your area of expertise or visit as a guest
speaker. Please respond to this email if you would like to help or visit our
webpage at: https://www.gofundme.com/bmvwx9u4.Thank you!
