Position or Title: Ph.D. Assistantship in Fish and Fisheries Ecology and Conservation in the Amazon
Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA A highly qualified and motivated candidate is sought to develop a study on the ecology and conservation of fish and fisheries in the Brazilian Amazon. The position is based at the Tropical Fisheries Conservation Lab, which addresses tropical fish and fisheries conservation problems by adopting an interdisciplinary approach. Potential PhD projects can involve varied aspects related to the biology, ecology, and management of fish populations. The selected candidate will have full tuition, stipend, and subsidized health insurance. Anticipated start is August 2016 (preferred) or January 2017.
