Boyce Thompson Arboretum (BTA) is Arizona's first non-profit research organization dedicated to the study and preservation of arid land plants. A neighboring botanic garden (Wallace Desert Gardens) has recently been sold to developers and BTA is in the midst of attempting to rescue ~6,000 plants before July 1st, 2017. Although funds have been secured for some, ~2,000 plants require additional support due to their size and transporting costs. BTA is truly a remarkable place and the addition of the taxa rescued from Wallace Desert Gardens will put BTA in the top 25 gardens in the US and top 75 globally for taxa diversity. Every little bit helps.
