Position Type: Student Contractor, USGS Fort Collins Science Center Title: Ecological Data Analyst Job Function: Manage and analyze ecological data sets – Aquatic Systems Biology Branch, FORT Job Description: Work with ecologists in the Aquatic Systems Biology Branch of the Fort Collins Science Center concerning (1) effects of aqueous contaminants on aquatic and riparian organisms determined from field and laboratory studies; (2) relationships among riverine hydrology, geomorphology, and ecosystem attributes: and (3) quantifications of environmental flows to sustain ecosystem properties. The data analyst will work closely with several lead scientists in defining the structure of custom data sets and constructing appropriate summary reports, tables, statistics, and figures. Familiarity with Bayesian statistics and GIS software, and knowledge of some combination of ecology, toxicology, and stream hydrology are desirable. Scientific writing experience is desirable.
