Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology 2016-2017 Academic Year

Position Summary: This is a full time position for a Visiting Assistant
Professor of Biology at New Mexico Highlands University for the 2016-2017
academic year. Position to start on August 8, 2016. The normal teaching load
is 24 credit hours per academic year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Teach lower division courses for non- majors and majors and
upper division courses in ecology and evolution.
2) Hold 5 hours of Office Hours per week.
3) Participate in departmental meetings, seminars, and teaching
enhancement activities.
4) Participate in other university activities as appropriate
5) Advise and mentor students.
6) Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimal qualification: M.S. in Biology or related field with 18 hours of
appropriate course work.
Preference will be given for:
Ph.D. in Biology or related field (ABD will be considered if completion is
anticipated within 3 to 6 months after the hire date.)
Experience teaching courses in a university
