Dear colleagues, We would like to draw your attention to the Mercury Biogeosciences and Environmental Change session at the 2016 American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Conference in San Francisco, California on 12-16 December, 2016. The exact session date is to be announced.
Deadline: All abstract submissions must be received by 3 August 2016 at 23:59ET/3:59+1 GMT (11:59 P.M. EST). For more information on the conference, visit: https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2016/. Mercury Biogeosciences and Environmental Change https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm16/preliminaryview.cgi/Session12455 Session ID#: 12455 Session Description: Mercury (Hg) contamination continues to be an environmental and public health concern. Processes of Hg transport, methylation, and biotic uptake shift through time and space. The goal of this session is to highlight recent scientific advances in Hg cycling in relation to environmental change. Abstracts will be considered on a variety of topics including: Hg speciation, biogeochemistry, and bioaccumulation in terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems. Papers that consider the role of environmental change, climate, ecosystem response, scale, source apportionment, food web dynamics, and biotic and abiotic controls on Hg cycling and bioaccumulation are strongly encouraged. Invited Speaker: Dan Jaffe, University of Washington (Professor) Invited Speaker: Ami Riscassi, University of Virginia (Post-Doctoral Researcher) Primary Convener Michael S Bank, Ph.D. University of Massachusetts Amherst Amherst MA (United States) Primary Email: [email protected] Convener James B Shanley, Ph.D. U.S. Geological Survey Montpelier VT (United States) Convener Heather E Golden, Ph.D. US EPA, Office of Research & Development National Exposure Research Laboratory Cincinnati OH 45268-0000 (United States) We hope you consider submitting an abstract and attending the conference.
