A team of researchers from the University of Cambridge and Laurentian University are urgently looking for 2 volunteers to help out for fieldwork in Canada. The project aims to investigate the links between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, by focusing on the role of lake sediment in transferring energy into the food web and on regulating gas fluxes with the atmosphere. The volunteers will have opportunities to work both in the field (collecting sediment, gas and water samples) and in the lab (e.g. measuring gas flows, nutrient concentrations).
The work will be carried out at Laurentian University, in Sudbury, Ontario, from the end of August to end of October/early November. The positions are not remunerated, however some financial compensation is available. Please contact ChloƩ Orland ([email protected]) if interested.
