On Monday, August 1st, Dan Ames of Brigham Young University will present a webinar titled 'Apps for Web Based Hydrologic Analysis and Modeling in HydroShare.' This is the fifth in the webinar series that will demonstrate how HydroShare can be used to conduct better research and comprehensively fulfill Data Management Plans for many different types of data including GIS files, model components, and time series data. HydroShare and the CUAHSI Water Data Center are making extensive use of web services-based cyberinfrastructure to enable search, discovery, and analysis of water resources data. This is facilitated by a "web app" environment based on open source web-based software tools that support spatial and temporal data visualization, high performance computing, distributed data storage, and multi-user access. In this webinar, Dan Ames (Brigham Young University) will present a brief introduction to the HydroShare Web App architecture and several example web apps built using the Tethys Platform. He will also give a brief "under the hood" look at the source code of an example web app for accessing USGS and National Water Model data. Questions will be taken after the presentation.
