I'm scheduled to teach an introductory seminar on global biomes later this
fall, and I could use some advice on recent books that give a good overview of
the topic.
So far the only book on biomes I've been able to find is Woodward's "Biomes
of Earth," from about a dozen years ago, but I'm dubious about this one. It
provides a reasonable overview of major biomes, but the text is riddled with
spelling errors on nearly every page, and the clear lack of editorial rigor
makes me wonder about the content.
Can anyone recommend a more recent book on the topic? Please send me any
suggestions off-list, with my thanks in advance.
