Some specific duties will include:
Serves as Deputy Director for the center assisting the Director with duties 
that include: coordinating the NC CSC research portfolio, ensuring clear and 
effective communication among researchers and stakeholders, strategic and 
tactical science planning, planning of staff and partner meetings, and 
execution of action items as necessary or directed. The incumbent represents 
the NC CSC Director in the Director's absence.

The incumbent convenes and participates in cooperative partnership in the North 
Central U.S., working closely with partners from universities, other agencies 
and tribes in guiding and managing a collaborative global change adaptation 
program on behalf of objectives that include: identification of adaptation 
decision priorities across multiple federal, state, and nongovernmental 
global-change oriented agencies in the North Central U.S.; coordination of 
resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective development and use of 
research-based, adaptation-oriented information; identification of best 
research and communication practices that are evolving in a very dynamic global 
change science setting involving universities, public agencies, and 
nongovernmental organizations.

Serves as primary research coordinator.

Serves as a source of technical expertise and advice to the NC CSC Director on 
global change research accomplishments, priorities, and emerging developments.

Prepares oral and written summaries, reports, documents, and briefing materials 
as assigned by the NC CSC Director.
