Tenure Track Position in Plant Sciences at The New School of Plant Sciences and Food Security, Faculty of Life Sciences, Tel Aviv University
The new School of Plant Sciences and Food Security at the Faculty of Life Sciences at Tel Aviv University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the levels of Assistant or Associate Professor in Plant Sciences including Plant physiology, Plant ecophysiology, Plant ecology, Plant development, Plant biotechnology or Plant systems biology. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and administration. Applications will be considered from October 1st 2016, until the position is filled. Recruitment of the successful candidate is expected by October 1st 2017. Description of the position: The 'School of Plant Sciences and Food Security' is seeking applicants who focus on Plant Sciences and Food Security. The appointee will establish a competitively funded research program to address contemporary and emerging issues related to plant biology. The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous, dynamic and internationally-recognized research program, using state-of-the-art research approaches and methodologies. The appointee is expected to develop courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, for students from a large range of study tracks and programs. Qualifications: Ph.D. degree and / or postdoctoral experience in the fields of Plant Sciences and Food Security. Post-doctoral experience and evidence of research excellence are strictly required. The candidate should have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Hebrew, and the ability to develop and conduct extramurally funded research.
