TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN CROP POLLINATION
  
1.       POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW 
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to develop novel research questions
and conduct research in the field of crop pollination by wild and managed
insects.  The applicant must be proficient in spoken and written English,
have a current driver’s license and a PhD in ecology, entomology, zoology or
related area.  
 
Candidates with a strong background in the design and implementation of
landscape level field studies and well developed statistical skills (e.g. R
software) will be highly regarded.  Candidates will be required to undertake
extensive travel for field work across a range of horticultural crops in the
north and eastern parts of Australia, often in remote areas.  An interest in
working alongside industry and the capacity to work both work independently
and as part of a team are desirable qualities. Candidates will be expected
to disseminate research results to industry and the broader scientific
community and publish research results in international peer reviewed
journals.  

LOCATION: Armidale, N.S.W. Australia
CLOSING DATE: December 31, 2016 or until filled.
SALARY: LEVEL B STEP 6 ($AUD 91,900 per annum)
CONTRACT: FIXED TERM FOR 2 YEARS

2.       RESEARCH TECHNICIAN/ASSISTANT LEVEL HEO 5.5
We are looking for a motivated research assistant to provide technical
assistance to our research projects in the field of crop pollination by wild
and managed insects.  Duties will include conducting field and lab work on
insect pollinators in horticultural crops across Australia. 

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in ecology, environmental science
or equivalent, have excellent organizational and time management skills and
a current driver's license.  Experience with large scale field studies, data
entry and processing, spreadsheet management and/or statistical analyses
will be highly regarded.  In addition, experience with insect
identification, plant sampling and identification would be advantageous. The
technician will also be expected to participate in lab meetings and training
workshops as necessary.

LOCATION: Armidale, N.S.W. Australia

SALARY: LEVEL HEO 5.5 ($AUD 73,268 per annum)
CONTRACT: FIXED TERM FOR 2 YEARS
