Post-Doctoral Research Associate Position Description The UDSA-ARS Appalachian Fruit Research Station seeks a post-doctoral research associate to conduct research on the biology, chemical ecology and dispersal behavior of the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) in order to develop effective monitoring and management tools for this important invasive pest of tree fruit and other crops. The incumbent will be stationed at Kearneysvillle, WV and supervised by Dr. Tracy Leskey. Project goals will focus on defining the behavioral responses and dispersal ecology of BMSB to relevant chemical stimuli under laboratory, semi-field and field conditions to better establish effective monitoring and management strategies. QualificationsPhD in Entomology with expertise and experience in crop protection, behavioral ecology, chemical ecology, and evident publication record. Expectations Incumbent will be expected to conduct independent research within the context of a regional and national collaborative efforts and to generate research results and peer-reviewed publications that will contribute significantly to the resolution of this extremely important issue Project DurationTwo years, beginning in Winter 2016.
