Hi all,

There has been a lot of chatter in the science community about what the new
administration means for science and the environment. At UCS we are concerned
that transition team members and people who are being appointed to
administration leadership positions have a history of attacking scientists and
censoring science. We are further concerned that an emboldened Congress will
attempt to pass legislation that cuts science out of existing public health and
environmental laws.

We believe that it is important for scientists to lay out the scientific
community's expectations for how President-elect Trump should use science to
govern, and have drafted a statement to that effect. This will help give new
administration officials an understanding of the standards we will hold them
to, and give journalists a sense of what to look out for.

We'll release the statement after Thanksgiving. Please add your name here:
