Dear all,

Please consider presenting your research in our session "*Measuring and
modeling interactions and feedbacks between pedological, hydrological,
biological and geomorphic processes for land degradation and
desertification *(SSS2.14/BG9.25/GM6.6)" that will be held at the next
*EGU meeting
in Vienna, Austria from April 23 to 28, 2017*.

"Pedological, hydrological, biological and geomorphic processes rarely
occur in isolation, and land surface change associated with degradation and
desertification often occurs from interactions and feedbacks between
multiple processes. Understanding the degree to which soil erosion or
sediment transport, for example, occur via fluvial, aeolian, and hillslope
geomorphic processes, is necessary in order to identify the environmental
drivers of land surface change or to predict geomorphic response to
ecological disturbance (and vice versa). Moreover, interactions and
feedbacks of processes are particularly important for hydrologic, sediment,
and ecological connectivity. While accurately measuring or modelling
interactions and feedbacks can be difficult, they are critical to
understanding, predicting, and preventing land degradation and
desertification. We seek contributions from modelling and observational
(including remote sensing) studies that demonstrate novel approaches and
new insight into the relative contribution of interacting processes for
ecology, geomorphology, or soil science research."

Please note that proposals should be submitted by *December 1st to apply
for financial support* (http://egu2017.eu/financial_support.html
